Toastmasters - District 20
About District 20
The District 20 Toastmasters is the newest addition to the community of district toastmasters officially listed this term 2011-2012 following the split of District 79. Literally, a new addition, but factually a prime mover of the growth of Toastmasters in the Middle East and South Asia. Originally associated with the historic District 79, District 20 comprises two countries in the Middle East, namely Bahrain and Kuwait. Historically, Toastmasters in these nations were major contributors to making the region on top of the world stage in growth, numbers and dynamism.
After its official split, District 20 on its first year received the Select Distinguished District Award having been ranked as the world’s number 7 in 2011-2012. As of June 21, 2013, it has reached the much coveted President Distinguished District for the years 2012-2013. It has been a major contributor to the success of Region 11. Effective July 1, 2013, the District will expand to 15 Divisions, 64 Areas and 281 clubs. District 20 leaders believe that there will be more club growth in the coming term of 2013-2014 including Arabic Clubs and Bilingual Clubs.
